WARNING: Before getting this game, make sure your TV can play in 60 Hz, or 480p. You will not be able to play the game if it doesn’t.

I decided to miss out on buying SBCG4AP Episode 2 on European launch date and instead buy Super Mario RPG, a game that Europe missed out on when it was released in Japan and the Americas on the Super Nintendo. The game was made by Square, now known as Square Enix, who are well known for there involvement in the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games.

It plays out like a traditional RPG, as you’d expect. It features an overhead view of Mario and his surroundings. It’s not fully 3D, but the character models are 3D. As you’d expect from a Mario game, there are some attacks that are obligitary for any Mario games, like the jump, but it also has the fireball. I’m currently up to a dragon boss, which is hard, in a word. It’s a recommended download from the Virtual Console. I may review it soon.

Also, the reason why I haven’t done my Mega Man review is because (you guessed it) it’s so damn hard to complete. (Sidenote: I HATE Iceman’s stage) And the reason why I don’t have my Dazzle yet is a longer story.

You may not know this, but I’m a teenager and live with my parents. My house is having an extension at the moment, and I thought it would be done by now, because I was told that many MANY months ago. Now, it’s due to be finished by about christmas. This is a problem because the TV I have at the moment doesn’t have any Composite outputs, and I won’t be getting a new TV until the extension is done. I could use another method, but it would take a hell of a lot of moving around. However, I could ask my unkle if he could give me some SCART things. Rather then explain what they are, which would take forever, I’ll just say that they have Composite outputs.

This is just a quick little post to say that my First Impressions of Brawl will arrive tommorow. For one reason. I can’t get off the damn thing because it’s so good! I’m about 2 hours in to the SSE, but it’s nearly 10pm now, so I will have to write the first impressions tomorow. Sorry about that, but I can give you some words of advice. Go and buy the game.

Happy Birthday Sonic!

June 23, 2008

It’s come to my attention that today: June 23rd is the 17th Anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog being first released on the Genesis, unfortunately for “new” gamers, this doesn’t mean much because most of the new Sonic games are horrible. But for people who have played the original game (I can barley say that) it’s a pretty special occassion. So it would seem like a pretty appropriate time to post my review of the original game on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. But I have yet to complete the game, as it’s suprisingly hard on the first playthrough. But I hope to get it done before the end of the week.

Also, I may be able to post my first impressions, and some snapshots of Brawl on Thursday. Anyone who buys their games off of the GAME website probably know that it normally gets delivered a day or two early. Which is an advantage because I can send many Brawl screenshots to my friends and torture them with the snapshots. That being said, anyone from the US who reads this will probably post snapshots of Brawl.

But that’s about it. I have a lot of games that I want to review soon, so look out for those reviews on this site, and don’t forget to look out for my Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Smash Bros Brawl review, which should be coming soon.

First Post

June 19, 2008

Hi everyone, I’m Koopamaster, and as you can see, I set up a nice little WordPress blog to talk about games, post reviews and stuff like that. So if you’re filled with Nintendo related hatred, you should probably never return to this blog, as the only other games console I have is a PS2, which I don’t think much of (don’t ask why). I also may be doing some video reviews soon, the time depends on when I get the equipment (dazzle, AV splitters, etc). I’m not really good with introductions, so I’ll leave it at that.
